Yogesh Singh Reappointed Delhi University Vice-Chancellor for Second Term

Yogesh Singh has been reappointed to lead Delhi University for another five years.

The university’s notice says the appointment takes effect on October 8, 2026.

Another report says he began the new term earlier that week, so the reports give different timing.

A change to the university’s rules allows a vice-chancellor to be appointed for a second full term.

If Singh serves the full term beginning in October 2026, it would run until October 2031.

During his first term, Delhi University began using CUET for undergraduate admissions.

It also introduced a four-year undergraduate programme.

These changes are connected to India’s National Education Policy.

Students and colleges have had to adjust to revised courses, credits and exams.
