Maharashtra Local Body Polls: Women to Lead Over Half of Zilla Parishads
Imagine Maharashtra is like a big city with different districts.
Now, it's time to vote for the leaders of these districts!
The government has decided that in many of these districts, the leaders will be women.
This is because of a new rule about who can be a leader in each area.
Out of all the districts, over half will have women in charge.
This decision was made to make sure everyone has a chance to lead.
This election is a big deal because it involves many local areas and the leaders that run them.
18 out of 34 Zilla Parishads in Maharashtra will have women chairpersons.
The announcement is ahead of upcoming local body polls.
Various Zilla Parishads are reserved for women in different categories.
Local body polls will be like mini-assembly polls in Maharashtra.
