Power Minister Reviews J&K Hydro Projects
The Power Minister of India, Manohar Lal Khattar, visited Jammu and Kashmir to check on big water power projects.
He went to places like Kishtwar, Reasi, and Ramban.
At one project called Salal, he saw how they are cleaning up dirt from the water and planted trees to help the environment.
The minister also started some important work at another project called Ratle.
He told the teams to finish their work quickly and well.
He met with local leaders to make sure everything goes smoothly.
India is building these projects faster now because they are not sharing water data with Pakistan anymore, which Pakistan is worried about.
Union Power Minister Manohar Lal Khattar visited Jammu and Kashmir to review NHPC hydroelectric projects, including Ratle, Salal, Sawalkot, and Dulhasti 2.
He laid the foundation stone for dam concreting works at the Ratle Hydroelectric Project and directed expedited sediment removal at Salal.
The Sawalkot project, executed by NHPC, is expected to generate 800 megawatts of electricity, contributing to India's power generation capacity.
India has accelerated hydroelectric projects following the review of the Indus Waters Treaty, dismissing Pakistan's objections as rhetoric.
Pakistan has expressed concern over India's initiatives, claiming they are a 'weaponisation of water' and exploiting the suspended treaty.
