AAP Gives Punjab Limited Space in New National Leadership
The Aam Aadmi Party chose new leaders for its national organization.
Punjab, the only state where AAP currently governs, received three places in the 23-member national executive.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and minister Harpal Singh Cheema were included in the party’s top political committee.
Rajbir Singh Ghuman, who works closely with Mann, was also selected.
Punjab party chief Aman Arora was not chosen for either body.
AAP said the choices were based on experience and ability.
Opposition leaders said Ghuman’s selection showed that Mann’s close aides are becoming more powerful.
Arvind Kejriwal was re-elected as the party’s national convener.
