Sambhal Riots Anniversary Leads to Well Excavation
A long time ago, in 1978, a man named Ramsharan Rastogi was allegedly killed and his body was thrown into a well in a place called Mahmud Khan Sarai.
His family was very sad and asked the police for help, but nothing happened.
Many years later, in November 2024, there were some riots in the same area.
On the anniversary of those riots, Rastogi's family asked the authorities to look into the old case.
The authorities decided to dig up the well to see if they could find any clues about what happened to Rastogi.
They started digging, but so far, they haven't found anything important.
Ramsharan Rastogi, a grocery store owner, was allegedly murdered in 1978, and his body was dumped in a well in Mahmud Khan Sarai, Sambhal.
His family filed a police complaint, but no action was taken for decades.
On the anniversary of the November 2024 riots, Rastogi's family urged district authorities to excavate the well.
District Magistrate Rajendra Pensiya and Superintendent of Police KK Bishnoi ordered the excavation of the well.
As of now, no significant findings, such as a body or bones, have been discovered in the excavation.
