Pilibhit Civic Body Blacklists Contractors for Tender Fraud
Imagine you're bidding to build something, and you need to show you have money.
Some contractors in Pilibhit used the same 'proof of money' (FDRs) for different bids, even though they weren't supposed to.
This is like using the same toy for two different games at the same time.
The city council found out they were being tricky, because they checked.
Because of this trickery, these contractors are now banned from doing business with the city council in the future.
This was done to make sure everyone follows the rules and plays fair when bidding for projects.
Pilibhit Municipal Council blacklisted four contractors for tender fraud.
Contractors used fixed deposit receipts (FDRs) as surety, which were already pledged elsewhere.
The fraud was detected during technical bid scrutiny via the Prahari app.
The tenders were for six civil construction works.
The contractors are debarred from future dealings with the Pilibhit Municipal Council.
