KIMS Bollineni Performs First Kidney Transplant in Rajamahendravaram

KIMS Bollineni Hospital in Rajamahendravaram performed its first kidney transplant.

The kidney came from Adapa Sudheer, who had been declared brain-dead.

His parents chose to donate his organs, even though they were grieving.

One kidney was transplanted at the hospital in Rajamahendravaram.

His other kidney went to Visakhapatnam, his lungs went to Hyderabad, and his liver went to Srikakulam.

The organs helped four patients receive transplants.

Special traffic routes, called green corridors, helped the organs travel quickly to hospitals.
