Hyderabad's Ganesha Immersion Blends Devotion, Music And AI
People in Hyderabad celebrated the farewell of Ganesha idols on Friday.
Large processions filled the streets with colours, music and dancing.
Families also performed smaller immersions at home or nearby water sites.
Some people felt happy during the celebrations but sad when the idols left.
They believed the sadness was eased by the hope that Ganesha would return next year.
Different musicians played drums, dappu, brass instruments and DJ music.
Volunteers and government workers helped by providing food, water and vehicle repairs.
New AI-style pictures appeared on posters and even helped one group design its physical idol.
Hyderabad’s Friday immersion featured major processions, family rituals and idols ranging from household figures to the 69-foot Khairatabad Ganesh.
Devotees gathered at Malkam Cheruvu and along routes including Abids, Liberty Junction and Tank Bund to farewell Ganesha.
Drummers from Kerala, Telangana dappu performers, Pune dhol-tasha groups, brass bands and DJs provided the procession’s music.
Families, spectators and social-service groups made the day communal, with free snacks, popcorn, cotton candy and water distribution.
AI-generated imagery appeared widely on posters, and one Kacheguda association used an AI image as a reference for its idol.
