Farmers March on Republic Day
On Republic Day, farmers in Punjab and Haryana drove tractors in marches to demand changes from the government.
They want the government to withdraw several new bills and policies that they believe will hurt farmers.
They also want the government to release a man named Mukesh Malaud, who was arrested for protesting for land rights.
The farmers say they are fighting for their rights and the rights of all people.
They started their marches after the official Republic Day events were over, so they didn't disrupt any celebrations.
The marches were organized by a group called the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM).
Farmers in Punjab and Haryana organized tractor marches on Republic Day to demand the withdrawal of several bills and policies.
The marches were organized by the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) and included participation from 34 farmer unions in Punjab.
Key demands included the withdrawal of the Electricity Amendment Bill 2025, Seeds Bill 2025, Labour Codes, and the release of detained activists like Mukesh Malaud.
