Infant Deaths Raise Electrical Safety Concerns at Adilabad Hospital

Three babies died at a hospital in Adilabad.

The hospital’s newborn-care unit reportedly had air conditioners that did not work properly for about five months.

People had reportedly told senior officials that repairs were needed.

Some parts of the hospital also had loose wires, exposed electrical connections and broken switches.

The unit was in an older building renovated in 2012.

A doctor said its wiring needed regular checks and repairs.

The official cause of the accident has not yet been decided.

Safety experts warned that old wiring and electrical problems can cause fires, especially in hospitals with equipment running for long hours.
