Auto Mutation System for Property Tax Rolls Out in Municipal Corporations
The government is starting a new system to make property taxes easier to handle.
When you buy a new house, the local government will automatically figure out your property taxes.
You won't have to go to the city office to get it done.
This system will be used in all cities in the state, starting with new houses registered from August 1st.
It was tried out in one city first and worked well.
Now, it should make things simpler for everyone and help the government collect taxes more efficiently.
State government is implementing auto mutation for property tax in all municipal corporations.
The system will impose taxes on newly registered houses starting August 1st.
It was piloted in Vijayawada Municipal Corporation and is expanding.
Sub-registrars will provide assessment numbers to the GMC after registration.
The system aims to eliminate the need for property owners to visit GMC offices.
