Global Reactions to Trump's Board of Peace
The United States has invited many countries, including India and Pakistan, to join a new group called the Board of Peace.
This group is led by former US President Donald Trump and aims to help bring peace to the Gaza region and other conflict areas.
The Board of Peace will work on making these regions stable and prosperous.
Countries that join can be part of this effort for three years without paying anything, but if they want to be permanent members, they need to contribute over $1 billion.
The group includes important leaders from around the world and was approved by the United Nations.
Some countries, like Hungary and Vietnam, have already accepted the invitation.
However, some countries, like France, are cautious and want to stick with the United Nations.
Russia is happy about the splits between the US and Europe but is careful because of its own interests in the Arctic.
India is thinking carefully before responding to the invitation.
Trump has also threatened 200% tariffs on French wine and Champagne if France declines the invitation.
The United States has invited India, Pakistan, and other countries to join Trump's Board of Peace for Gaza conflict resolution and global peace efforts.
The Board of Peace will oversee Gaza until at least the end of 2027, with initial three-year terms for participating countries.
Permanent membership in the Board of Peace requires a contribution of more than $1 billion within a year.
Trump aims to expand the BOP's scope beyond its UNSC mandate for global peace efforts, asserting it will be 'one of a kind'.
France is considering declining the invitation, potentially facing 200% tariffs on French wine and Champagne if they do not join.
