Pune Ganpati Mandals to Join Immersion Procession Earlier
Two big groups that are part of the Ganesh festival in Pune, Akhil Mandai Mandal and Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati Trust, are changing how they do things this year.
They usually join the parade in the evening, but now they'll go right after the first five groups.
This is because there's a special moon event called a total lunar eclipse, on September 7th.
During the eclipse, all the idols must be covered, so the groups want to finish the parade earlier.
They are asking all Ganesh groups to help them finish early so they can get the idols back to their temples before the moon event.
Akhil Mandai Mandal and Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati Trust will participate in the immersion procession earlier this year.
The decision was announced at a press conference attended by key figures from both mandals.
The change is due to a total lunar eclipse on September 7, requiring idols to be returned to temples before noon.
The mandals will now join the procession immediately after the Five Manache Ganpati Mandals.
This shift aims to facilitate an earlier completion of the immersion procession.
