Washington National Opera Leaves Kennedy Center
The Washington National Opera is leaving the Kennedy Center after more than 50 years.
This is because of changes made by President Donald Trump and his allies.
The opera says the new rules and less help from the center make it hard to keep working together.
The Kennedy Center also said the relationship was not working well financially.
Many other groups and artists have also left the center because of Trump's takeover.
The center is now called the Trump Kennedy Center, which some people don't like.
Washington National Opera announced its departure from the Kennedy Center, seeking to become an independent nonprofit entity.
The opera cited financial challenges and reduced support services under the new leadership of President Donald Trump.
The Kennedy Center's new business model requires productions to be fully funded in advance, which the opera found incompatible.
Many groups and artists have withdrawn from the center since Trump's takeover and renaming.
The Kennedy Center's board voted to rename it as the Donald J. Trump and the John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts.
