IMD issues fog and cold alerts
The weather department in India, called the IMD, said that some parts of Jharkhand, Punjab, Chandigarh, and Haryana will be very cold and foggy.
They gave a 'yellow alert' for cold weather in five districts of Jharkhand until Monday morning.
The temperature in these places is below 10 degrees Celsius.
They also warned about dense fog in many districts.
This means people should be careful because it might be hard to see and it will be very cold.
The fog is staying for a long time because of calm winds and high moisture.
Pollution is making the fog worse.
The fog is expected to continue until at least December 27.
IMD issued a yellow alert for cold conditions in Garhwa, Palamu, Chatra, Latehar, and Lohardaga until Monday morning.
Temperature in these districts is below 10 degrees Celsius.
Dense fog alert issued for 15 districts in Jharkhand, Punjab, Chandigarh, and Haryana.
Foggy conditions are likely to persist across Punjab, Chandigarh, and Haryana until at least December 27.
IMD advised caution due to reduced visibility and cold conditions, with pollution worsening the fog.
