Delhi gastroenterologist shares three-year journey from 110 to 74 kilos

Dr Shubham Vatsya was a doctor who weighed 110 kilograms when he was 34.

He said he often advised patients about healthy living while struggling with his own habits.

A patient’s honest question made him realize he needed to change.

He also wanted to stay healthier for his young daughter.

Over three years, he gradually reduced his weight to 74 kilograms.

He said he did this through discipline and small, repeated choices.

An expert said slow weight loss can be easier to keep than very fast weight loss.

The expert recommended balanced meals, activity, enough sleep and changes that people can follow for a long time.

Even losing 5 to 10 percent of body weight may help some health risks.
