Transcranial Pulse Stimulation for Alzheimer’s Now Available in India

A centre in Hyderabad is offering a treatment called Transcranial Pulse Stimulation, or TPS.

TPS sends short ultrasound pulses into selected parts of the brain.

Doctors use MRI-based guidance to help aim the pulses.

The treatment does not require surgery or electrodes placed inside the body.

Some early studies found possible improvements in certain thinking and daily-function measures.

However, researchers are still studying how useful TPS is for Alzheimer’s disease and other conditions.

Solaceum says patients will be assessed by specialists before treatment.

The centre recently invited doctors to learn about international experience with TPS.

More studies and long-term evidence are needed to understand its exact benefits.
