Adani Group to Launch Three Bengal Projects, Including Hospital
The Adani Group may start three big projects in West Bengal on September 24.
The projects include repairing Writers’ Buildings and improving a stretch of riverfront near Kumartuli Ghat.
The group also plans a hospital with 2,000 beds in New Town.
About half of the hospital beds would be for poorer patients.
The other half would be used commercially.
The ghat project would restore old buildings and improve paths, lighting, toilets and river access.
The Writers’ Buildings restoration could cost about ₹100 crore.
The state government hopes these projects will encourage more investment in Bengal.
The Adani Group is likely to begin three West Bengal projects on September 24, with Gautam Adani expected but not confirmed to attend.
The projects include renovation of Writers’ Buildings, redevelopment of the Kumartuli-Champatala Ghat stretch, and a 2,000-bed hospital in New Town.
Half of the hospital’s beds are planned to be reserved for economically weaker patients, while the remaining beds will be used commercially.
The estimated costs are around ₹10 crore for the ghat redevelopment and ₹100 crore for the Writers’ Buildings restoration.
The group is also reportedly interested in bidding for the proposed deep-sea port at Dadanpatrabar in East Midnapore.
