Mumbai Metro 3 Marks One Year With 7.2 Crore Journeys
Mumbai’s Aqua Line has completed one year of operating along its full route.
It connects Aarey JVLR and Cuffe Parade.
During that year, people made more than 7.2 crore journeys on it.
The metro is Mumbai’s first underground metro corridor.
MMRC says many people used it in September 2026, on both weekdays and weekends.
To mark the anniversary, MMRC plans to save memories and records about the line in a Time Capsule.
It also plans a stamp trail at selected stations.
Commuters will be able to travel along the line and collect stamps.
Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. reported 7,20,88,738 passenger journeys on the Aqua Line in its first year of full-route operations.
The full corridor runs from Aarey JVLR to Cuffe Parade and is Mumbai’s first underground metro corridor.
In September 2026, average daily ridership was 2,24,602 on weekdays and 1,31,138 on weekends.
MMRC announced a Time Capsule to preserve records, photographs, milestones and memorabilia, along with a snapshot of Mumbai in 2026.
A Passport & Stamp Trail will let commuters collect specially designed stamps at selected stations.
