Delhi Metro Phase IV Expansion: 3 New Corridors
The Delhi Metro is getting bigger and better!
They are adding more tracks and stations to make it easier for people to travel around the city.
Right now, only a small part of the new expansion is open, but more is coming soon.
This will help people in busy areas get around more easily.
The new parts will connect different lines at special stations called triple interchanges, making travel even smoother.
The government is also spending a lot of money to make sure these new lines are built quickly and well.
Once done, the Metro will be able to carry twice as many people every day!
Delhi Metro Phase IV expansion includes 3 new corridors: Golden Line (Lajpat Nagar to Saket), Green Line (Inderlok to Indraprastha), and Red Line (Rithala to Kundli).
The corridors will span nearly 47 km and cost Rs 14,630.80 crore, with the Delhi government contributing Rs 3,386.18 crore.
The expansion aims to reduce traffic, cut pollution, and improve public transport, with completion expected in four years.
The new corridors will have a total of 39 stations, including elevated and underground sections.
The expansion is part of a larger plan to double the daily ridership of the Delhi Metro once Phase IV is completed.
