India's E-Bus Sales Surge Led by Delhi, Aided by Government
Imagine regular buses, but they run on electricity!
India is using more of these e-buses.
Sales went up a lot in some places, like Delhi.
The government is helping by offering money to make e-buses cheaper, and building places to charge them.
They also want to encourage e-buses on routes between cities, like Delhi to Jaipur.
Although they are working on lowering the cost and improving charging infrastructure, India still has a lot of work to do to catch up to other countries when it comes to using electric buses.
India's total e-bus sales rose 37% in the first half of FY26.
Delhi saw the highest e-bus sales, increasing by 69%.
The government is investing in e-buses and charging stations through the PM E-Drive scheme.
The government aims to promote e-buses for intercity travel.
India's e-bus market share is lower compared to Europe and China.
