Bengal Transfers 57 More Police Officers in Major Reshuffle
The West Bengal government has moved 57 police officers in a big reshuffle, just a day after moving 40 others.
These officers include different ranks like ACP, SDPO, IC, and Deputy SP.
They were moved to different areas like Bidhannagar, Howrah, and Siliguri.
One important officer, Soumyadip Bhattacharya, was moved from East Midnapore to Bankura.
The government says these changes are normal, but some people think it's because of upcoming elections.
West Bengal transferred 57 police officers across various ranks and districts on Friday, following a transfer of 40 officers the previous day.
The reshuffle affected officers in Bidhannagar, Howrah, Asansol–Durgapur, Siliguri, and other major areas.
Notable transfers include East Midnapore SP Soumyadip Bhattacharya being moved to Bankura.
The government described the transfers as routine administrative exercises.
The reshuffles come amidst heightened scrutiny of policing and administrative decisions ahead of the 2025 election cycle.
