Bengaluru Chicken Shops Plan Two-Day Shutdown Over Waste Fee

Bengaluru Chicken Shops Plan Two-Day Shutdown Over Waste Fee

Chicken sellers in Bengaluru plan to stop working for two days.

They are protesting a new fee for taking away chicken waste.

The fee is ₹5 for every kilogram of waste.

A shop making about 30 kilograms of waste each day could pay around ₹150 daily.

That could cost the shop nearly ₹4,500 each month.

Sellers say this would make running their businesses harder.

They will demonstrate at Freedom Park on September 3.

All participating shops are expected to close on September 4.
