ED Files Case Against Myntra for Alleged FDI Violations
Imagine a fashion website called Myntra that gets money from investors outside of India.
The government says that the way Myntra was doing business might not follow the rules about how those investors' money should be used.
The government thinks Myntra was selling clothes to a related company, which then sold them to you, the customer.
This might have been done to get around the rules.
Now, the government is investigating to see if Myntra broke any rules and if so, what the consequences are.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has filed a FEMA case against Myntra Designs Pvt Ltd for alleged FDI violations.
The ED claims Myntra and related entities engaged in multi-brand retail trade while posing as “wholesale cash and carry.”
