Akhilesh Yadav Appeals for Donations on Birthday for Memorial
On his 52nd birthday, Akhilesh Yadav asked supporters to donate to a memorial for his father, Mulayam Singh Yadav, instead of giving him gifts.
The memorial is being built in their hometown and is modeled after the Lincoln Memorial.
Donors will have their names printed in a special booklet.
The goal is to help everyone feel like they are a part of the memorial.
Akhilesh Yadav requested donations for the Samajwadi Party's Netaji memorial on his birthday.
Donations are in lieu of traditional birthday gifts.
Donors' names will be included in a memorial booklet.
The memorial is being built in Saifai, Mulayam Singh Yadav's native village.
