Manoj Jarange Patil’s Health Worsens During Mumbai Reservation March

Manoj Jarange Patil is protesting to demand reservations for the Maratha community.

He has been on a hunger strike for 19 days.

While travelling toward Mumbai, he became very weak and dehydrated.

Doctors found that his blood pressure and blood sugar were very low.

They gave him fluids through a vein.

They said fluids alone might not make him well enough to continue travelling.

They advised that he go to a hospital intensive care unit.

Jarange said the journey was hurting his health but continued to consider the march.

Mumbai Police also refused permission for his planned protest at Azad Maidan because of law-and-order concerns during Ganeshotsav.
