US Open: American Men's Singles Title Drought Continues
Imagine a big tennis tournament in America called the US Open.
For a long time, American women have won many times.
But, for the men, it's been a very long wait!
The last American man to win was way back in 2003.
This year, the best American man left was Taylor Fritz, but he lost.
This means no American man will win the US Open this year.
Many people are waiting for an American man to win again.
The women's side is doing well, with some recent successes.
Hopefully, one day, the men will catch up!
Taylor Fritz lost to Novak Djokovic in the quarter-finals.
No American man has won the US Open since 2003 (Andy Roddick).
The article notes 12 women's singles titles won by Americans since 2000.
Ben Shelton retired hurt, and other Americans were eliminated early.
The US has many players in the top 50, but fewer in the top 20 compared to other countries.
