Hackers Expose Flock Camera Tracking and Security Weaknesses

Hackers found a way into one Flock camera, which is used to watch vehicles.

They copied some of the information stored inside it.

This included thousands of videos and records of vehicles passing by.

The camera uses many small programs to detect motion, study pictures and send information away.

It can take many pictures of one vehicle, sometimes more than a million over time.

Some programs also recognized people in a few video clips, mostly people riding motorcycles.

The camera did not appear to use facial recognition beyond what the normal Android system can do.

The discovery also showed that the camera often ran out of storage space.
