Chandigarh Police Conducts Mock Drill Ahead of Republic Day
The Chandigarh Police did a practice exercise at a hotel to get ready for Republic Day.
They pretended there was a bomb threat to see how well the police and other teams like bomb squads and dogs could work together.
They found a fake bomb and practiced how to handle such situations.
This was to make sure everyone is prepared for any emergencies during the Republic Day celebrations.
Chandigarh Police conducted a mock security drill at Hotel Shivalik View in Sector 17.
The exercise was supervised by SP (Operations) Geetanjali Khandelwal and DSP (Operations) Vikas Sheokand.
The drill tested the response mechanism for a terror or bomb threat scenario.
Police Operations Cell commandos cordoned off and evacuated the hotel premises.
HIT teams, bomb detection squad, and dog squad located a dummy IED near the CBTL entry point.
