HMDA Lake Protection Committee Speeds up Lake Notifications
The HMDA Lake Protection Committee, which has been around for 15 years, is doing a much better job of protecting lakes.
They have sped up the process of notifying which lakes are protected.
The committee has issued a large number of preliminary and final notifications.
Preliminary notifications are issued to identify lakes and their boundaries.
Final notifications are issued after the boundaries and buffer zones are finalized.
The committee is also working to integrate more lakes into their database, while another separate committee has been formed for lakes within the Outer Ring Road (ORR).
This will help to protect these important bodies of water.
HMDA's Lake Protection Committee increased the pace of lake notifications.
The Committee issued 408 preliminary and 957 final notifications beyond the Outer Ring Road.
Final notifications are more than four times higher than the number issued during the committee's 15-year history.
A separate lake protection committee was formed for lakes within the ORR.
The HMDA is integrating other lakes into its database.
