Professor Arrested in Faridabad Linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed Terror Module
Police arrested a former doctor named Shaheen Shahid because they believe she was helping a terrorist group called Jaish-e-Mohammed.
She's accused of being in charge of getting women to join the group in India.
Investigators say she used her job as a doctor to not look suspicious while helping with the group's plans.
She's also believed to have talked to people in other countries to recruit more members.
Her arrest is part of a bigger investigation that started after a car bomb exploded near a famous landmark in Delhi, causing many deaths.
Police found a lot of explosives and arrested other people, including other doctors, who they think were part of the same group.
Shaheen's family is shocked and can't believe she would be involved in such things, saying she was a good mother who wanted a normal life.
Dr. Shaheen Shahid, a former medical lecturer, has been arrested in Faridabad on allegations of leading Jaish-e-Mohammed's (JeM) women's recruitment wing in India.
Authorities claim she was part of a 'white-collar terror module' and used her medical credentials to avoid suspicion while aiding logistical operations.
Her arrest is linked to a broader investigation into an inter-state terror network uncovered following the deadly car blast near Delhi's Red Fort.
Investigators allege she communicated with cross-border handlers via social media to mobilize sympathizers and expand JeM's recruitment network.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken over the case, which involves other arrested medical professionals and significant seizures of explosives.
