Santali Literature Stall at Odisha Book Fair
At the big book fair in Bhubaneswar, there was a special stall called Santali Saonhed Akhada.
It was the only one selling books written in the Ol Chiki script, which is used for the Santali language.
The stall had many different kinds of books, like stories, poems, and school books.
A lot of people, including those who had never seen the Ol Chiki script before, were very interested and bought books.
The person in charge, Malati Murmu, also talked about a magazine called Fagun, which is read by Santali people all over the world.
The community is very proud of their language and culture, and the government has promised to give money to help promote Santali literature even more.
A lone stall dedicated to Santali literature in Ol Chiki script drew attention at the 7th Odisha State Book Fair in Bhubaneswar.
The stall, managed by Malati Murmu, featured novels, short stories, poetry, magazines, and academic texts in the Ol Chiki script.
Notable books included 'Ol Chiki Chedoh Potob', 'Elkha-Potob', 'Santali Ranal', 'Atan', 'Nagam', and 'Hitel'.
