Uttar Pradesh Lifts 60 Million Out of Poverty
Uttar Pradesh, a state in India, has made a big change in just eight years.
Before 2017, many people in Uttar Pradesh were very poor.
But now, about 60 million people have moved out of poverty.
The government did this by creating jobs, teaching people new skills, and giving money to small businesses.
They also helped people who make things by hand, like artisans.
The government gave loans to young people to start their own businesses and provided pensions and free food to families.
Some areas, like Maharajganj and Gonda, saw the biggest improvements.
The government wants to keep helping people and make sure everyone has a good life.
They are working on making sure small businesses can grow and that more women can work too.
It's a big success story, but there's still more to do.
Uttar Pradesh lifted nearly 60 million people out of poverty between 2017 and 2025.
The poverty rate dropped from 37.68% in 2015-16 to around 22.93-22.95% by 2019-21.
Key initiatives included the One District One Product (ODOP) scheme, skill development programs, and support for artisans and entrepreneurs.
The government provided social security measures like pensions, free food grains, and cooking gas connections to millions of families.
Challenges remain, including gaps between rural and urban areas and the need for better digital skills and market access for small businesses.
