Border Security, Punjab Violence, Hospital Mystery and Flood Response

Border Security, Punjab Violence, Hospital Mystery and Flood Response

Several serious incidents were reported in India on September 17.

The government told the Border Security Force to keep searching for people entering from Pakistan.

Guards were told to shoot intruders who did not answer when challenged.

This decision followed the deaths of 10 Sikh youths at the Punjab border on August 30.

In Punjab, terrorists also killed two people and hurt at least five others.

One of those killed was a Shiv Sena leader named Vijay Mohan.

At a Mumbai hospital, workers found decayed flesh and bones in a drinking-water tank.

Police were waiting for experts to determine whether the remains came from an animal or a human baby.

Soldiers were also sent to help communities affected by severe flooding in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
