PETRONAS Lubricants India, Tata Motors Sign Used-Oil Recycling MoU

PETRONAS Lubricants India, Tata Motors Sign Used-Oil Recycling MoU

PETRONAS Lubricants India and Tata Motors are working together to recycle used vehicle oil.

They signed an agreement called a Memorandum of Understanding.

The companies will test their plan in Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.

The plan includes collecting used automotive lubricants responsibly.

The collected oil can be re-refined into base oil.

That base oil can then be used to make new lubricants.

The companies say this supports a circular economy.

They also say it may help meet India’s changing recycling responsibilities and reduce environmental impact.
