Defence Ammunition Clusters Expand Across Nellore’s Atmakur And Udayagiri
Two areas in Nellore district are being developed for defence and aerospace factories.
One cluster is planned at Allampadu in the Atmakur constituency.
Another cluster is located at Duttalur in the Udayagiri constituency.
Several companies have proposed making explosives, ammunition, rocket engines and aerospace components there.
Some companies have already received consent or land allotments.
Other projects are still being reviewed by officials.
The projects could create many jobs for local people.
The district collector said the area is attractive because it has large amounts of unused land at competitive prices.
A Defence Ammunition Cluster is being developed at Allampadu in Atmakur constituency, with four companies under consideration for land allotment.
Ashtra Industries, Munish Defence Solutions and Sunshine Industries have received land consent for projects worth ₹190 crore to ₹500 crore.
Valeth Group has proposed a ₹500-crore solid rocket engine project, but its land allotment remains under evaluation.
Projects at the Duttalur cluster include investments by Premier Explosives, Anadrone Systems and Aditya Precitech.
The proposed projects across both clusters could create thousands of jobs in defence, aerospace and explosives manufacturing.
