Indonesia Lifts Grok Ban After Compliance Commitment
Indonesia has allowed Elon Musk's Grok chatbot to start working again after a three-week ban.
The ban was because some people were using the chatbot to create inappropriate images.
The Indonesian government said Grok can come back, but only if X Corp, the company that owns Grok, promises to make sure it follows the rules and doesn't let people misuse it.
The government will keep checking to make sure Grok is being used properly.
Other countries have also been worried about the kind of content Grok can create.
Indonesia lifted its three-week ban on Elon Musk's Grok chatbot after X Corp committed to improving compliance with local laws.
The ban was imposed due to concerns over AI-generated pornographic content.
The resumption of Grok services is conditional and under strict government supervision.
X Corp has implemented 'layered' measures to prevent misuse of Grok, which will be continuously verified by the Indonesian government.
Governments and regulators worldwide have condemned sexualised content generated by Grok and some have opened inquiries.
