Lucknow Improves Waste Management with New Transfer Station
Lucknow is getting a new waste management system.
The city is building a special station called a Fixed Compactor Transfer Station (FCTS) where garbage will be squeezed and put into closed trucks.
This is better than the old way because it keeps trash from spilling on the roads and making a mess.
The new system aims to reduce bad smells, make roads safer, and be better for the environment.
It will be ready by June 5, which is World Environment Day, to make the city cleaner and healthier for everyone.
A new Fixed Compactor Transfer Station (FCTS) has been set up in Bhaisora, Lucknow.
The facility aims to reduce the use of open dumpers for waste transport.
Garbage will be compacted and transferred into closed vehicles.
The station can handle up to 29 metric tonnes of waste per trip.
The facility is expected to be fully operational by June 5.
