Solar Panels Stolen from Mohali Stadium
There is a sports stadium in Mohali that is in bad shape.
Some expensive solar panels that were supposed to heat the swimming pool water all year round have been stolen.
The thieves got in because there is no wall on one side of the stadium.
Now, the pool can only be used in the summer, and kids have to go to another crowded pool in the winter.
The deputy mayor is very upset and wants a big investigation to find out who took the panels and why the stadium isn't being taken care of.
The person in charge of sports says he just started his job and is asking the people who built the stadium to fix the wall and the problem.
Solar panels worth several crores were stolen from a multipurpose sports stadium in Phase-9, Mohali.
The theft occurred due to the absence of a boundary wall on one side of the stadium.
The stolen solar panels were meant to provide hot water to the stadium's swimming pool year-round.
The Phase-9 swimming pool now operates only during summer, forcing children to travel to an overcrowded pool in Sector 78 during winter.
Deputy Mayor Kuljit Singh Bedi has demanded a high-level inquiry into the theft and criticized the neglect of sports infrastructure maintenance.
