Pawar Backs Tata Trusts Role Amid Governance Dispute

Pawar Backs Tata Trusts Role Amid Governance Dispute

Tata Sons held a board meeting on September 17.

The board voted to keep N Chandrasekaran as executive chairman for five more years.

It also began work that could eventually lead to Tata Sons becoming publicly listed.

Noel Tata voted against both decisions.

Venu Srinivasan voted in favor of them.

Sharad Pawar said this created a governance problem.

He argued that the rules required the two trust-nominated directors who attended to agree.

Pawar also said the Tata Group should protect its long-standing values and contribution to India.
