RERA Secures Flat for Engineer After Builder Demands Extra Fees
A software engineer named P Krishna Mohan Rao bought a flat in 2019 but had to wait until 2025 for construction to start.
The builder tried to charge him an extra 5 lakh rupees and even asked for GST twice.
P Krishna went to the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) for help.
RERA warned the builder to give the flat to him right away and said they would fine the builder if they did it again.
After hearings, the builder admitted a mistake and stopped the extra charges.
P Krishna finally got his flat registered in March 2026.
RERA told other buyers to keep all receipts and check if a builder is registered with RERA before buying.
RERA intervened on July 30, 2025 to help engineer P Krishna Mohan Rao secure his flat.
Builder Aaditri Empire demanded an extra Rs 5 lakh and attempted duplicate GST collection.
