Government Presses IIMs on Credit Transfers, Reservations

Government Presses IIMs on Credit Transfers, Reservations

The government wants top business schools, called IIMs, to allow students to take classes at other schools and get credit for it.

It's like when you can transfer a class credit from one college to another.

The government also wants IIMs to follow rules about reserving spots for certain groups in classes and for hiring teachers.

The IIMs are worried about keeping their quality high and have concerns about accepting credits from other institutions, especially non-IIMs.

The government hopes this will help reach the goal of Viksit Bharat by 2047.

There may also be changes, such as new programs in local languages and an increase in the number of seats available.
