11 Young Professionals Choose Lifelong Atmarpit Diksha

Eleven people with different jobs and career dreams chose a spiritual life called Atmarpit Diksha.

They made this choice at a ceremony in Mumbai on September 26.

Their vows include celibacy, spiritual practice and helping others.

Some said a particular experience or a growing sense of purpose helped them decide.

They are not simply leaving their skills behind: many use them to support the Mission’s projects and services.

Their families supported them, and some parents made vows too.

The people interviewed say they see the choice as meaningful, not as losing everything they once wanted.
