Burnham's Cabinet Faces Reform UK Threat

Burnham's Cabinet Faces Reform UK Threat

Andy Burnham, the new UK Prime Minister, has a cabinet that is more at risk of losing seats to Nigel Farage's Reform UK party compared to Keir Starmer's previous cabinet.

Polling data suggests that only six members of Burnham's cabinet would retain their seats if a general election were held tomorrow, with 12 losing to Reform and four to other parties.

In contrast, 10 members of Starmer's cabinet would have kept theirs.

Burnham's team is focusing on policies that address the cost of living, immigration, and local economies to blunt the threat from Reform UK.

The cabinet has an even gender split and a majority attended Oxford or Cambridge, reflecting upward social mobility.
