Kangana Ranaut defends 'generation gutter' remark, says targeted cockroaches

Kangana Ranaut is an actress and a politician in India.

She said something that made a lot of people angry: she called some young people 'Generation Gutter.'

Many people thought she was insulting all young people.

Ranaut said that was not true and that she was only talking about people who call themselves 'cockroaches.'

Her words came after she watched videos from a protest at a place called Jantar Mantar.

The protest was about the NEET-UG exam, where the question paper was leaked, and students were upset.

Ranaut said some of the videos were crude and that she worried about young people who use drugs or gamble.

Some politicians and lawyers were unhappy with what she said.

A lawyer filed a case against her in court in Agra.

The court will look at the case on August 21.
