Telangana reports 3% tax revenue growth in Q1FY27

The Telangana government has reported a 3% growth in tax revenue for the first three months of the financial year 2026-2027.

This growth is attributed to increased revenues from GST, property registrations, sales tax, and liquor sales.

The total revenue for Q1FY27 was Rs 41,144 crore, which is Rs 4,357 crore more than the same period last year.

The Stamps and Registration Department earned Rs 4,510 crore from property registrations in June, and liquor sales contributed Rs 5,044 crore to the revenue.

While this growth is seen as a positive sign, there are concerns about the increase in borrowing and liabilities.
