Court Orders YouTube to Provide Rahul Gandhi's Speech Details
A court in Pune, India, has asked YouTube to give information about a video of a speech by Rahul Gandhi, a leader from the Congress party.
The court wants this because Satyaki Savarkar, the grandnephew of a famous freedom fighter named V D Savarkar, said that Rahul made some false and hurtful remarks about V D Savarkar in his speech.
The court wants to check the video to see if Rahul really said those things.
Satyaki had earlier given a CD with the video, but it didn't work, so the court is now asking YouTube for the original video and some technical details about it.
The court will look at the video again on December 31.
Special MP/MLA court in Pune orders YouTube to provide information about Rahul Gandhi's speech.
Satyaki Savarkar filed a defamation complaint against Rahul for alleged remarks against V D Savarkar.
CD containing the video was found to be blank, prompting the court to seek the original video from YouTube.
Court seeks metadata like upload date, URL, and digital signature of the video.
Next hearing scheduled for December 31 to examine the video evidence.
