IIT Delhi Develops Smart Mosquito-Repellent Detergents
Scientists at IIT Delhi have created special detergents that can make your clothes repel mosquitoes.
These detergents come in powder and liquid forms and work by making fabrics less attractive to mosquitoes.
Unlike regular mosquito sprays or creams that wear off quickly, these detergents keep working even after multiple washes.
The researchers tested them by putting hands covered with treated fabrics into a box of hungry mosquitoes and found that fewer mosquitoes landed on the treated fabrics.
This could be a big help in places where mosquito-borne diseases like malaria and dengue are common, as it provides a long-lasting way to stay protected.
IIT Delhi researchers developed smart mosquito-repellent detergents in powder and liquid forms.
The detergents make fabrics less attractive to mosquitoes, reducing the chance of bites.
Protection is regenerated with each wash, ensuring durability and consistent performance.
Testing using the 'hand-in-cage' method showed a significant reduction in mosquito landings on treated fabrics.
The detergents have been tested in a commercial laboratory and proven effective.
