Goa's Environmental Report Highlights Water Quality, Fish Production
Goa is keeping an eye on its environment!
The government checks the water and air to make sure it's clean.
They found that some water sources, like lakes and wells, have pollution.
Rivers and waterfalls are mostly okay, though.
The air is generally good, but sometimes it gets a bit less clean near places with lots of cars or building work.
They also look at how much fish is caught, and even though there was a big peak, it is a bit less now, but things can get better.
Goa's fish production peaked at 140.3 tonnes in 2022-23 before declining.
Fish production faced challenges, dropping to 105 tonnes in 2019-20.
Water in lakes, wells, borewells, estuaries, and coastal waters in Goa is polluted.
Rivers and waterfalls in Goa generally meet pollution standards.
Air quality in Goa is good to satisfactory for most of the year.
