Sealdah Division Extends Platforms for Rs 117 Crore
The Sealdah Division of the Eastern Railway is working on a big project to make their train platforms longer.
This project costs Rs 117 crore and will help them fit bigger trains that have more coaches.
Right now, some stations can't handle these longer trains, which causes delays and overcrowding.
They are extending platforms at 11 stations, with some getting much longer extensions.
This will make train travel safer and more comfortable for passengers, and it will also help the trains run on time better.
The project is expected to support the transition to newer, longer trains and handle more passengers in the future.
Sealdah Division is extending platforms at 11 stations to accommodate longer trains.
The project costs Rs 117 crore and aims to improve operational efficiency.
Major extensions will be done at Dakshineswar, Kalyani, Krishnanagar City Junction, Beldanaga, and Berhampore Court.
Platform lengths will be extended by more than 100 meters at some stations, with the longest being 295 meters.
The extensions will enhance safety, reduce overcrowding, and support the transition to longer LHB trains.
